MOUNT EERIE and ASHLEY ERIKSSON live

Hey so last night I saw MOUNT EERIE and ASHLEY ERIKSSON perform at some lame rich kids' warehouse in L.A.  It was really really good.  Ashley Eriksson played with, fellow LAKE band member, Eli.  C.S.G. caught the Santa Cruz leg of the tour the night before and had passed a little music note via Ashley Eriksson.  She dedicated the song Jump like a Helicopter to me from him... very cool.  If that was not radical enough, Mount Eerie inspired with a delicate yet powerful, reinterpreted version of many of my favorites.  The band was Phil Elverum of Mount Eerie, Ashley Eriksson of Lake, Julia Chirka of NO KIDS and Geneviève of WOELV and Ô PAON (highly suggested listening).  They created a huge sound with a minimal set up.  Two basses though so heavy was a given.  The lame rich kids who ran the warehouse couldn't handle sound so Mount Eerie played generously in a capella for a song until Eli jumped behind the dudes and figured things a little better on sound.  The rest of the set contained Microphones songs off of Don't Wake Me Up and Mount Eerie songs mainly off of Clear Moon and Ocean Roar.  I loved the whole set.  Melanie and I agreed that the night was worth the 10 dollar admission, 5 dollar 7 inch, lame rich L.A. kids, and boring wait through opening act Jung Bouquet.
